My grandma had photos she had been wanting to put into a book for years.
Every time she tried, she got stuck in the same place. Too many options. No clear place to start. She'd close the tab and go back to her photos just sitting on her phone, doing nothing for anyone.
I'm Juliann, and I grew up with technology. She didn't. And sitting with her, watching her try to navigate that platform, showed me something I hadn't thought about before.
It wasn't that she couldn't do it. It was that everything on that screen assumed she already knew how it worked. Nobody had ever just walked her through it, button by button, and told her which things to ignore.
Once I did that, she finished her book.
That experience changed how I think about this. People who didn't grow up with technology aren't behind. They just grew up in a world where none of this existed yet. They deserve a walkthrough that actually meets them where they are.
That's why I built this program the way I did. Slowly. Clearly. One screen at a time. For someone who sees technology the way my grandma does.
